Often we are asked what is the single best upgrade possible for a swimming pool? The answer of course is solar! Solar panels for your pool are an easy, cost efficient and highly effective way to increase the temperature of your pool by a significant margin. This margin varies greatly depending on a number of factors but overall there is hardly a situation that could not see a benefit from adding solar panels to their system.

“I already have a heater, why would solar still be a good option?” Solar panels take the work load off your heater, so on sunny days, getting your pool up to temperature might be accomplished easily without even turning the heater on. This is not only going to save you money, but it will extend the functional life of the heater.

“There is no room on my roof for panels, does that disqualify me from having solar?” Absolutely not. While the roof is generally a good option for solar panels, there is no requirement for them to be installed on the roof. Anywhere the panels will be exposed to sun for a few hours a day is just as good for placement. The panels are roughly 4x10 feet and attach to 2 inch PVC.

“Nowhere in my backyard has full sun exposure, can I still use solar to heat my pool?” Yes, as long as there is a spot that gets 2 or more hours of sun you will see a benefit from solar.
